The shooting for the second edition of the Mitin Mashi universe named
Jongole Mitin Mashi
, starring
Koel Mallick and directed by
Arindam Sil has started. Mitin is one of the famous lady detectives of Bengali literature penned by Suchitra Bhattacharjee. The film portrays this famous character on the screen with a large visual scape and great filming language.
Koel said, “The story revolves around Pragyaparomita (Mitin Mashi), who travels on a vacation with her family to Saranda forest.
There she comes to know about the poaching rackets of elephants and struggles to fight it out. The jungle is a very mysterious place, full of thrills and adventure. Having no network along with logistical problems, we shot in the midst of the forest with a great thrill. The full unit juxtaposed with the spirit of Mitin and the team is focused on unraveling the mysteries and crime of the jungle.”
This is also the first film which addresses the issue of conservation and threat of poachers. Along with Koel, other cast members of the film includes
Subhrajit Dutta, Kamalika Banerjee, Ashim Roy Chowdhury, Arijit Dutta, Sandip Dey, Amit Saha, Amlan Majumder, Barun Kumar Chakraborty, Amitabh and Lekha.
The music of the film is by
Bickram Ghosh and the screenplay and dialogue is jointly penned by Padmanabha Dasgupta and Arindam Sil himself.
“People have been constantly asking me when I will be directing the second edition of Mitin Mashi as the first one became so popular. We are shooting in the jungles, and it talks about conservation. The action sequences in this film are quite dramatic and sharper than the first one,” said the director.
